Our Consulting Philosophy

OUR PRACTICE IS RESTRICTED TO THE CONSULTING LEVELS THAT PROVIDE THE GREATEST RETURN TO OUR CLIENTS.

Over the years, we have discovered that great change, great improvement happens within a company only when it is treated as a living entity, with a soul, a spirit, as well as a structure and a bottom line.

We also discovered that some consulting services provide great and long-lasting benefits. Others do not. And those that do all enable management to touch the spirit of their company. And cause it to change.

We categorize consulting services into Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary levels according to their contribution to the client. Primary level services provide the greatest benefits; Tertiary provide the least. We have also discovered that Primary level services are often inexpensive and that Tertiary level costs are almost always high.

Tertiary level services are provided by most management consulting firms. Billings are substantial, the services are free of risk, and the required skills are not very broad. Tertiary level services involve the lower, supervisory levels of management.

Secondary level services are provided less frequently. Senior management is involved and affected. Considerable skill is needed. Considerable change is often the result.

Primary level services deal with the very essence of business: Corporate renewal, survival, turnaround, executive will, corporate goals, entrepreneurial planning, leadership. The Chief Executive Officer and top management are deeply involved.

FitzGerald Associates understand that our client companies are living organisms. We confine our practice to the Primary and Secondary levels of consulting. We select our professionals for their ability to function successfully and comfortably with the highest levels of management.
